Bollerup Jensen has the last couple of years developed a formaldehyde-free and eco-friendly adhesive for wooden boards and an adhesive that on top of all has a fire-retardant effect. The majority of the world’s wooden boards are today produced with urea-formaldehyde-adhesive which is problematic as formaldehyde is categorized as carcinogenic.

Bollerup Jensen A/S has won the SUSTAINABLE BUILD’s Innovation Challenge 2016 along with 9 other sustainable innovations. The innovations are chosen by a panel of experts from the project’s partners with representatives from the construction industry, producers, suppliers, property developers, companies, and organizations.

SUSTAINABLE BUILD is a collaboration between the Fund of Industry (Industriens Fond), Danish Architecture Center (Dansk Arkitektur Center), and is developed in cooperation with the Green Conversion Fund (Grøn Omstillingsfond), and Leaderlab.
